It's important to note that Mountain bikes should always use mountain bike pedals, Road bikes can choose between road pedals and mountain bike pedals. The type of pedal you choose for your bike will affect the type of shoe you can get. Mountain bike shoes are comfortable to walk, road shoes aren't as comfortable to walk but are more efficient whilst cycling.
